Parenting Styles and Their Impact

A child's upbringing depends on their parenting style. Mainly, there are three types of parentingauthoritarian, permissive, and equitable. In the authoritarian approach, parents have strict rules and children have very little autonomy. Children might learn compliance, but they don't learn to make their own decisions, which can create a hindrance in their cognitive development in the future. On the other hand, in the permissive approach, parents follow loose rules, as a result children don't develop intrinsic discipline. This creates disparity, where some children become responsible, while others show obstinacy. The most effective approach is equitable parenting, where there is a juxtaposition between discipline and nurturing. This fostering builds children's confidence and ensures their metamorphosis, which is important for future success. Therefore, the right pedagogical approach should be adopted, so that positive resonance is created in children's mental development and they can build their own lives.
