In 1992, the International Labour Organization (ILO) took effective steps to stop child labour. Since June 12, 2002, the World Day Against Child Labour has been celebrating. This day is also observed in Bangladesh. However, child labour is a complex problem that cannot be solved simply by imposing rules.
It is urgent to keep children protected and safe. They need to be empowered by supporting and educating them. The root causes of the problem must be identified and addressed. Creating awareness and promoting education helps create a positive environment for children.
Government and non-government initiatives in strengthening advocacy and enforcing laws are fundamental. If strict laws are not implemented, it will be difficult to control the situation. To reduce child labour, long-term planning and dedicated efforts are needed.
If educational opportunities are expanded and responsibilities towards children are ensured, society will become more progressive. If today's children are nurtured and guided, they will be instrumental in building society in the future.
