২০২৪ সালের ৬ অক্টোবর বাংলাদেশে একটি Constitutional Reform Commission গঠিত হয়। এই nine-member body-এর প্রধান হিসেবে renowned political scientist অধ্যাপক আলী রিয়াজকে appointed করা হয়। কমিশনের মূল উদ্দেশ্য হলো existing provisions পর্যালোচনা এবং necessary amendments-এর সুপারিশ প্রদান।

কমিশনের কাজের মধ্যে রয়েছে সংবিধানের modifications-এর মাধ্যমে equality, social justice, এবং balance of power নিশ্চিত করা। রাষ্ট্রের তিনটি অঙ্গ—executive, legislature, এবং judiciary-এর মধ্যে ভারসাম্য প্রতিষ্ঠা, fascist governance prevention, এবং effective decentralization কমিশনের প্রধান লক্ষ্য।

এই initiative অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক গণতান্ত্রিক কাঠামো তৈরি এবং public aspirations-এর প্রতিফলনের মাধ্যমে একটি inclusive constitution প্রণয়নে ভূমিকা রাখবে। কমিশন তাদের final recommendations ৯০ দিনের মধ্যে interim government-এর কাছে জমা দেবে।
