Why More Vegetables Grow in Winter
Winter is agriculturally significant for our country. Along with major crops like rice, wheat, and corn, various seasonal vegetables are cultivated in winter. Vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, and tomatoes, which are nutritious crops, show such abundance that is not seen at other times.
The reason so many vegetables grow in winter is due to favorable climatic conditions and plants' own adaptive features. Usually, excessive heat and rain hinder vegetable plant growth. But winter's optimal temperature (approximately 15 to 25 degrees Celsius) and 10-12 hours of daylight stimulate plant growth.
Additionally, fog and cold air maintain the process stability of plants' physiological processes, which increases yield. Winter's ideal environment is truly a blessing for plants.
